The current Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani resigns from his post on September 10. This unexpected news left the followers and the people of the state confused and at the same time surprised. On Saturday afternoon, Vijay Rupani was spotted at the Raj Bhavan. He went to submit his resignation to the governor Acharya Devvrat.
Post resigning, Rupani faced the reporters and said that he will always be grateful to the BJP leadership for letting him serve as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Also, he stated that working for the developments of the state under PM Modi’s guidance has been a good journey.

Shri Rupani, however, avoided the queries regarding why he took this sudden decision. While asked, Rupani mentioned change of guard stands as a natural occurrence in the Bharatiya Janata Party. Also, Rupani Sir mentioned that he will keep working as a serving member of the party.
In August 2021, Vijay Rupani completed five years of his tenure. According to the latest reports, Rupani will be the working CM of Gujarat until the coming elections which are to be done in 2022.
Rupani is the third CM from the same party to stand down in the current times. Respective chief ministers of Karnataka and Uttarakhand are the BJP leaders who stepped down from their seats.
