Jasprit Bumrah Early life and Education
Jasprit Singh Bumrah AKA Jassi was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India on 6th December 1993. Jasprit originally belongs to the Sikh Ramgarhia family.
His father’s name is late Jasbir Singh who was an Industrialist and his Mother’s name is Daljit Bumrah who is a principal of Nirman High school of Ahmedabad, by profession.
Bumrah has a sister named Juhika Bumrah who also happens to be a teacher at Zebar School for children in Ahmedabad. Bumrah lost his father when he was only seven. Since then his mother has raised the two siblings single-handedly.
Jasprit Bumrah finished his schooling at Nirman High School in Ahmedabad. As he had immense interest in cricket from childhood, at the age of 14 he decided to become a cricketer in the future. His mother supported his decision and that’s how his journey started.
In 2012 he started playing for the Gujarat Under-19 team as a bowler. And he won the title of Manof the Match for his excellent performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy of 2013 against Maharashtra.
Jasprit plays first-class cricket for Gujarat and he is a right-arm fast-medium pacer. Due to his unusual bowling action batters easily get confused and become prey to his bowling.
In his first-class debut for Gujarat against the Vidarbha Cricket team, he took 7 wickets and became the highest wicket-taker of the season.
This youngster got instant fame when he got the chance to play in IPL when he was only 19. Mumbai Indians coach John Wright was the first to notice his talent and his unorthodox bowling action and allowed him to play in the Mumbai Indians team.
In his debut IPL match in 2013 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, he took 3 wickets for 32 runs.
In the 2013 season of IPL, he only played a few matches but due to his super bowling action and impressive performance, Mumbai Indians retained him for the next season and bought him for 7.2 crores. Since then he is a consistent bowler of Mumbai Indians in IPL.
Bumrah started his first International career in 2016 where he was replaced for Mohammed Shami in the 2015-16 series against Australia.
And he became the first Asian bowler who took 5 wickets in a Test innings against England, Australia, and South Africa in the same year.
For these years he made many records and in 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Bumrah was in the squad as one of the major fast bowlers along with Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. After the T20 tournament in 2018, he ranked 2nd T20 bowler in the world.
Bumrah got married on 15th March of 2021 to model and Star Sports presenter Sanjana Ganeshan who also happened to be former Miss India finalistand MTV Splitsvilla contestant in 2014. Before that, his rumored girlfriend was Rashi Khanna.
As of now, Jasprit’s test fee is 15 lacs, ODI fee is around 6 lacs, T20 fee is around 3 lacs and his retainer fee is around 7 crore.
