Early Life
Born and raised in Valvod, Anand district, in Gujarat, Gadhvi went to Janta Vidyalaya, Bhadaran. His father, Samratdan Gadhvi, was a famous singer. So, his interest in music flows through the blood. He completed his schooling at Bhadran High School. He entered a local college to pursue B. Com. Although, he could never gain interest in any other studies rather than music. Finally, he entered MS University in Vadodara, where he received a BPA and MPA in music from the Faculty of Performing Arts. He totally indulged in music. His specialty is in Dayra, a type of native music.

After finishing his education, he started to write and sing Gujarati jingles. Later, he got appointed as a music professor at Dholakia College of Music. While teaching music, Gadhvi’s struggle to emerge as a singer continued. His first stage performance was in Ramodal, Kheda district. With his detailed knowledge of Gujarati traditional and folk music, he began to achieve success. He put a different touch on folk music and created his own genre.

By developing the tribal songs in his own form, ultimately giving a new life to the Gujarati folk songs, Kirtidan Gadhvi became a shining star in Gujarati music. He remains an iconic singer. Kirtidan Gadhvi is a big name in folk music. He joined hands with Bollywood composer duo Sachin – Jigar to sing “Teri Laadki Me” for Coke Studio India. Gadhvi’s name went into the news headlines when, in 2015, he participated at a cow protection rally themed concert, and notes of 500 and 1000 rupees were showered upon him. The rally ended up earning a total of 4.5 crores through that. Reportedly, he attends more than 200 programs a year.
