Lukman Meriwala Early life
Lukman’s full name is Lukman Hussain Meriwala and was born on 11th December of 1991 in a remote village named Sarnar in the Vadodara district of Gujarat. His father’s name is Iqbal Hussain and they belong to the Islamic community. His father is a farmer and they were extremely poor. There is no information about his educational qualification and Institution. We will update this info as soon as we get any updates. Since his boyhood, he had an immense interest in cricket and he aspired to be a cricketer in the future. However, due to extreme poverty, he had to shift his focus from being a cricketer and he started working as a fabric worker in his village to support his family financially.
Lukman Meriwala Cricket Career
Despite his daily battle he did not give up trialing for cricket and on his second trial, he got the chance to play luckily. He got selected in the List A Baroda team for playing domestic cricket. Meiwala started playing cricket on the club level in 2003 but after 4 years, in 2007 he had to leave cricket to support his family financially. After that, he made his Ranji Trophy debut in 2017.
It is the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where his performance caught everyone’s attention when he picked up 3 wickets giving only 28 runs in the final match against Punjab. And in 2021, he became the second-highest wicket-taker in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 15 dismissals to his name.
Meriwala being a left-arm medium-fast bowler holds dismissal of 72 to his name in 44 matches.
Lukman Meriwala IPL Career:
Meriwala made his entry to IPL in 2021 where he was picked by Delhi Capitals with a worth of 20 lacks per season in the IPL auction. And he debuted his first IPL match for Delhi Capitals against Punjab Kings. He played only one match throughout the season and took a wicket and gave 32 runs in 18 balls with an average economy rate of 32. He has not made his International debut for team India.
Lukman Meriwala Marital Status
Meriwala is married happily and they have a daughter named Fatima.
While Meriwala had been playing club cricket he had to leave his cricket journey to find some other work in order to provide financial support for his family. But his journey took a new turn when one of his friends suggested he go and settle in Baroda with his family and take a cricket coaching there is a better sports infrastructure. He took the risk and left his ancestral home with his family and moved to Baroda which is 80 km away from his village in search of his dream life.
