
Devendra Jhajharia wins his third Paralympics medal at the men’s javelin throw F46 by winning the silver while Sundar Singh Gurjar secures the bronze for India. 40 years old Jhajharia already bagged two golds at the Athens Paralympics in 2004 and Rio Paralympics in 2016. Devendra Jhajharia broke his own world record with today’s 64.35m throw.
Jaipur based 25 years old Sundar Singh Gurjar scores 64.01m and wins the third position in the finale. Gurjar lost his left hand due to an accident in 2015. However, he has been winning multiple games since 2017 and today’s win adds yet another feather to his success. The winner of the finals, Dinesh Priyan Herath Mudiyanselage from Shri Lanka, bested with his throw of 67.79m. This year get better and better everyday with multiple wins! With these medals added in the list, India gathers a total of seven medals in Tokyo Paralympics in just two days.
