Yogesh Kathunia throws a disc at a distance of 44.38m in his sixth attempt. And his final throw brings the silver to the nation. Claudiney Batista dos Santos from Brazil won the gold by setting the world record while Cuba’s Leonardo Diaz Aldana secured the bronze medal.
The 24 years old discus thrower is a B.Com graduate from Kirorimal College in New Delhi. Yogesh belongs to an Army family as his father served in the Indian Army. At the age of eight, Yogesh Kathunia suffered a paralytic attack due to which he had to face coordination impairments in his limbs. But, his sickness could not be able to churn his motivation out Yogesh. With this win, he proves just how much talent he is!
